| Norwalk is located in north central Ohio, an hour’s drive from Cleveland to the east and Toledo to the west. As the county seat of Huron County, Norwalk is home to the nationally recognized Summit Motorsports Park and is just 20 minutes south of Cedar Point in Sandusky and the recreational areas of Lake Erie.
Performing Arts Center
The Ernsthausen Performing Arts Center, located on the west side of Norwalk High School, was developed in conjunction with the Norwalk City Schools and the Ernsthausen Foundation. The center opened January, 2002 and is located at 350 Shady Lane Drive. A variety of activities and events are held at the center from concerts to galas to art exhibits. The Ernsthausen Performing Arts Center serves the students, as well as the entire community, with a 1,000-seat theater and full stage, a large-group lecture hall with teleconferencing capabilities and an art gallery.
The community also has two theatres, the Norwalk Main Street Theatre and the Norwalk Premiere Theatre 8 on the north side of town.
